I want the Internet to like me • A PIECE OF YOU IS ALREADY GONE

in writing •  7 years ago

We go about our daily lives like we’ll be this way forever
We take this life for granted with the instant gratification we need from the internet and it’s numbers
Why do we need to be liked?
Why can’t we just be ourselves and not post it?
Greet others while walking by instead of checking your Instagram or Twitter
Engage with the world
Instead of the viral world.

you certainly said a lot with little words jessica... hope my upvote doesn't come off wrong.. hahaha

Hahaha thank you. I mean I kind of am contradicting myself now. I love the internet and reaching out to people all over but I hate how much I feel like I need it, you know? The likes, the approval of others when in fact all you need is your own approval. The question is now-why is that not enough?

i totally agree - now i will follow your work. keep up the realism and remember to get off this trap called social media.

I'd hate to be from a generation that has never lived without social media. I'm lucky to have grown up with the development of the internet and computers. Switching off is easier for those above 30 years of age. But sometimes the likes or lack of them can make a big impact
