I couldn't place what was so special about Valentine's Day. What was all the fuss about? I knew St Valentine wasn't a Lover, he was a priest sworn to celibacy. Just because he secretly Wed couples against the decree of the emperor, people decided to celebrate him as a lover. To me, there was nothing special about that day, it was just like every other day. That was until love happened.
I met him in church, I didn't know why but I was attracted to him in ways I never thought I could. He became friends and it metamorphosed into a relationship.
My first Valentine experience was with him, he made me believe in Valentine. I got bitten by the love bug.
On Valentine's evening, we flew to Lagos for a comedy show, I had never traveled by air before. We visited the restaurant in Eko hotels, it was so beautiful, the food was amazing and the view was breathtaking.
He did everything in his power to make that day a memorable day for me. From that Valentine's Day till date I've never stopped celebrating Valentine's Day.
