I have been working in a startup company for three years now. That's right, it is still a start up company because of the poor revenue and unmature product.
At the begining, we were a partner of a company which has mature product and good market in China, we just OEM the product and sold it overseas. It brought good profit, but not a long time. Because the boss wanted to create a new product and new brand two years ago. However, it seemed like a big disaster since then. revenue reduced sharply and job cut came. We only have 20 employees in total, half for developing and half for marketing and sales.
In these two years, I always thought I was a liar to customers. I had to sell the products to them even though the product was so difficult to use and so unreliable. We sold, refunded, sold..funny? No, it is a nightmare!
The developing team seems to have no idea how suck the product is. And I, as a salesperson and a customer support, have been suffering all the time. The company is about to close down and I am deeply sad for its results.
