Drunk driving, the experience everyone should made at least once.
Yesterday I was at a birthday party of a really good friend of mine, one of my besties kind of and later I drove home.
Don't read it like that! You are not my girlfriend!
I drove home while I was still able to drive, okay?
But others did not. There were plenty of guys unable to speak properly and still they went home by car, with themselves behind the wheel. Mostly I mind my own business. Hell I myself am sometimes a pain in the ass in this matter an idiot who drives drunk home, because it's only two towns... What should happen?
I don't know why but this time it mattered to me. I thought about it. I thought about that one guy in school who died in a car accident because he was drunk driving. I didn't know that guy,but the whole school was in grief. And I just thought "Well he knew what was coming." I know it is a hard thing to say and I apologize to all who have lost someone this way, but I was in a teenage phase and didn't know what to think back then. The blood on the street you could see for the next few month...
Every death is one death to much on the street.
And I hope all of you who read this will see at the end, that it is important that you don't drive and drink or don't let the ones who had a few, drive.
I know, I myself have often the feeling I can drive home and as a matter of fact I really can. But still I by the rules am drunk and a danger for others and myself.
I only became stopped by the police... Drunk. And they totally failed in their purpose of being educational, authoric and reasonable. Cause they took my to station, BUT apologized because I would be so cooperativ, and they really would regret bringing me to the station, cause I would have droven properly, passed all tests (walking on a straight line and stuff), as a sympathic guy and they never would have thought that I had so much alcohol in my blood.
So I bragged with that, instead of being careful from now on. On parties I said "Well police said I can drive properly." blablabla...
So yes maybe you think you can drive. Maybe you really can drive. But it is luck that nothing happened til now. It is luck that you didn't sleep for a second and the wheel holds the car on the street. And luck someday runs out.
If you get in your car and drive drunk, you are a imminent murderer. With getting in your car you you accept the risk of killing someone.
Every car that passes you is lucky that nothing happend to them.
When the government set a alcohol limit. It wasn't to protect you. It was to protect the others from people like you, who drive drunk or would drive drunk.
If it would be a physical law, that only the people who took drugs or were drunk, die in a car accident. I bet there would be no laws, because the people would say "well he saw it coming. He risked his life and now he is dead."
All the people who get confiscated there keys by friends or family should always have in mind, that it's not only about themselves, but that they also risk lifes of others when they drive. That you could fall asleep and just than there must be a other car coming from the other side with a family in it, and with much much luck you die too. Because if you do not, you have four people on your conscience.
I began too drive the people after parties. I looked on how much I can drink, because I deeply care for the people I'm driving and so I started to drink less and always be still able to drive. Sometimes of course it is annoying. But the problem is, if I drink, I don't think about the strangers I maybe could hit by my car. So I need loved ones I really care about to give me a purpose on the party. That I drive them home safly.
Don't drink and drive... Drive the drunk!
Cheers Mates
Stay insane! (But not in the drunk way) and stay safe!
