Okay, so I spun The Wheel Of Writing that @rawbinhutt created and landed on ''Fantasy story or poem with quirky characters'' and ''Rock music''. The only word that is easy for me is ''fantasy'' in all of this. I used to listen to Indie Rock a while ago, but otherwise I have not been in the scene for a while. As for ''quirky'', I think all of us have characteristics that make us quirky in some way, so i will just try not to miss it completely! :D
Here is the challenge I am taking part in if you feel like participating!
So, here goes nothing: Unconventional heroes and villains
There were three people sitting in a small coffee shop, that were worth observing, an older lady, drinking latte, a teenage girl that looked like she had stepped out of the mean girls movie, and a baby boy in a crib. They may have seemed to be related by blood, but there was no family ties between them whatsoever. The only thing in common between them was that they were all human. Or so a by-passer would think.
We all have heard of heroes and villains, comics and fairy-tales have made sure that we know the difference between good and evil. We dream to fly and see the future, and most of all, we wish to have any supernatural power, just one would be enough. But comics are just a figment of a writers imagination. Or are they? We are so busy in our everyday lives, we only look at the ground, not to trip over somebody else. But what if we looked to the sky? Would we see something unusual?
Those three different souls, a sweet grandma doing a crossword puzzle and enjoying a hushed conversation with the kids, a girl, that anybody would think too cool to be friends with. A baby, that seems like a normal baby, bubbling away. But if you looked closer, under the sky blue blanket, you would see the outfit that baby was wearing, jeans with a key-chain and studs on a leather jacket. But the only thing the by-passers noticed was the cute, blue blanket, they did not have time for more.
All three of them seemed to be participating in the conversation, even the boy in the stroller, he occasionally let out a giggle or a tiny pout and the girl nodded approvingly first, and then seemingly translated what the baby had said to the lady. They were enjoying a day off and the rays of sun warmed the all of them, they made the day so much better. Until the baby bubbled louder than usual and the girl next to him leaned in, as if she was listening to something secret he had to say.
-- We should go, it seems duty calls. I think you want to call your henchmen, they have been doing business with some shady characters, not that you are not shady. There seem to be complaints from civilians- the girl added the last part not to offend the older lady, who in turn frowned and put down the pumpkin spice latte she was holding.
-- Not again? I wanted a day off from fighting you guys, is it too much asked from a supervillain? To have a day off with friends? Hmm, I guess, I will see you next week.- the lady, who looked like she was at least seventy, never broke her character, she moved slowly, leaning on her cane, she even apologized to a woman she bumped into on her way out. She never stopped talking to herself angrily on the way out, either.
-- To think that that woman is commanding the biggest gang in the city. But she is so sweet, I love the cakes and cookies she makes, plus that jacket she got you is so adorable, and the winter jumper she knitted, marvelous!- bubbles from the stroller seemed to signal agreement with the girls statement, but they also reminded her that it was time to go, so she got up and rolled the stroller out on the street.
They went to a nearly alley and the baby pulled out a rounded tablet from under his blanket, he pushed some buttons and after less than a second, in the place the girl with a baby in the stroller was standing, was only blue particles flying in the air that reminded of fireflies in the night. If you looked from a birds view, you could see a red x on the ground, sprayed with a spray-paint, just where they had stood.
Our two heroes reappeared in a castle hanging in the sky, they had used some kind of a teleportation device. This time the baby was standing on his own feet and his outfit was completely visible, he had tiny boots on that finished the look and looked so, so cute. The baby sighed and looked at his secretary, Carol, for a while, she had been waiting for them. Finally he spoke, in a rough voice that men usually get from smoking too much.
--I hate the world below, I got goo on myself pretending to be a human baby. Where is the emergency Carol?- he turned completely towards his secretary, waiting for her to answer. She handed him his headphones and answered in very high pitched voice.
-- Captain Cute Rock Baby, we have multiple bad guys in Atlantis, making trouble for the mermaids, I have on good authority that Captain Perish(the sweet old lady) is joining her men and helping them abduct one at this very moment, how do you want to proceed Captain?- Carol always wanted a superhero name, but nobody was willing to call her High Pitch Carol, so she had come to terms that she was just Carol, nobody took her ability to blow out windows seriously.
She watched as the Captain Cute Rock Baby put on his headphones and connected his rounded tablet to it, he immediately started swinging his head in the rhythm of a rock song. If it was not for him she would have left long ago, probably become a singer or something. But the little guy was so cute that she could not make herself leave. No matter the fact that he ignored her most of the time.
-- Saddle your water dragon Burnfire, we are going under water! I will ask Watar-bro to provide us with air bubbles real quick. Hope the old lady fights as good as she tells stories!- he already knew that she did, they had long lasting relationship of chasing each other.
Burnfire, the girl next to the Captain Cute Rock Baby, pulled out a napkin from her mean girls outfit and wiped the Captains face, then she whistled and a huge blue dragon appeared out of the blue. It had no wings, but it floated in the air, and it was long, longer than a dragon was supposed to be. It almost reminded you of a huge seahorse rather than a dragon.
Burnfire grabbed the Captain as his legs were short and he run too slow for her liking. Then she jumped on her dragon. Captain swung in the rhythm of music and talked into his tablet at the same time. In a short while another figure materialized on the spot where Burnfire and Captain had stood, it was Watar-bro! They were set to go save the world once again!
So this is a silly story that I went totally overboard with. Do not take anything seriously! The sole purpose of this story is to bring ridiculousness to steemit :D This is a fun spin on the never-ending fights superheroes endure against supervillains. Plus there is a dilemma, is a hero who is mean to others really a hero?
I hope it did not make your head hurt,
Have a great day, week and life,
Linda
I liked your ridiculous story! ;D Always good with some weird superhero action.
