Arcas' Bones (7/12)- A Muddle

My Dear Terence,

I am absolutely delighted that your research is proceeding at a steady pace in spite of the challenging circumstances. The wealth of ethnographic and geo-cultural data that you’ve been gathering has been invaluable. Even the General is impressed with the richness of the information and seems like a kid in a candy store.

If you haven't done so yet, please check out parts 1, 2, 3, 3.5, 4, 4.5, 5, 5.5, 6, and 6.5

I must admit that using Zerowave is addicting. I was thrilled to see how the different levels of cultural evolution were displayed on the radial map. There is no question that the Arcasians exhibit a dominant level of 2-2. Territorial-emotional integration. I did notice some oddities in the model, however. After processing the latest metrics from the drone data, the model also predicted cultural levels at 6-3 (electronic transmission) and 7-1 (genetic input). Yet, there is nothing in the ethnographic record to support those conclusions. Perhaps it’s an error on my part. Things are ramping up, and it’s been a bit hectic around here. I'll double check the results to make sure they're sound.

As you know, we're preparing to send a security team and deal with Dr. Levine's kidnapping. They will arrive in Arcas within the month. As per the Director's request, the team will also extract Esmeralda, once the primary mission has been completed. I will keep you up to date on the matter. In the meantime, please encourage Esmeralda to cooperate with the security team. Her father is adamant: she has to come home.

As for you, my dear professor, do take care of yourself. From the sounds of it, a matriarchal society is no garden of Eden.

Yours,
Rosalind
