Hi everyone, thanks for voting!
In case you missed the first thread, here is a link: Introduction
But long story short, it's a story written by me, but with choices decided by you! New chapters will be posted every Monday Wednesday and Friday!
The winning vote last time was "A kid playing a new phone app that lets you interact with an otherwise invisible world"
So, let's begin:
“And you can see these sorts of social constructs appearing in cultures all through history. In fact, all of human civilization is based, in some part, on these roles.” Mr Garret goes on and on, the droning of a man who's been ignored his whole life and has finally found a captive audience in his sixth grade social studies class.
OK, maybe that's not entirely fair. He's a nice guy, but come on Mr. Garrett! It's the last week of class, and the students don't want to hear about this! They just want to go home and start enjoying summer!
You're busy pretending to pay attention to information you know isn't going to be on any test, when your best friend, Matt, leans toward you and whispers in your ear.
“Did you get Mobius yet?”
“What?” You reply, confused. It's like he's speaking a different language, which, you suppose, isn't that out of character for him. He always has his head in the clouds thinking about some thing or other.
“Mobius! You haven't heard about it? It's only the single greatest cell phone app of all time! It's like the pinnacle of human achievement!”
Matt's whispering super fast, so it's hard to hear what he's saying, but you pick out a few things. Mobius is some kind of cell phone app. When you log in, it's like accessing a hidden world. You are assigned a job of either builder, or hunter. It sounds... cool, you guess?
Matt seems excited about it, anyway. But before he can say more, Mr. Garrett finally takes notice of Matt's wild flailing and increasingly frantic whispering.
“Excuse me, gentlemen.” Mr. Garrett says, sounding mildly annoyed. “Is there a problem? Do you have something more interesting to share with us than the history of human civilization?”
“Sorry, sir.” Matt says, hanging his head down. He really is a goody two-shoes, and you can tell he's actually ashamed to be called out in class like that. Nevertheless, when Mr. Garrett starts back up, Matt whispers to you one last thing.
“Just download it, and we can talk about it tomorrow!” he says. This is the only class you had together this year, so you likely won't see Matt again until tomorrow.
The rest of the day goes pretty smoothly. None of your other teachers pull a “Mr. Garrett,” and try teaching on the last week of school, so it's a lot of word searches and laughing as you chat with your friends, many of whom you won't see again until next fall.
You go home and momentarily consider downloading the app, but decide against it. It will be more fun to hear Matt talk about it tomorrow. Besides, it's more fun starting up a game with someone who already has some things figured out, so they can give you a head start. So you put Mobius out of your mind, and go to bed.
But when you get to school the next day, and arrive in Mr. Garrett's class, Matt isn't there. Dang, this must be a great game for Matt to skip school just to play it!
So, you decide that while Matt is gone, you'll download it. That way, if you don't like it, you can just tell him you aren't interested. Maybe then, he'll lose interest too, and then he won't keep bugging you about playing it. And hey, it might be really great too!
The game finishes installing, and you look at the screen. It seems to be taking a while for the app to load. You wonder if that is normal. But finally the Mobius logo shows up. Followed by a choice of jobs.
Hmm... that's strange. You could have sworn that Matt said a job was assigned to you. Nevertheless, this is what it says:
Builders: The only players capable of building new structures, builders are the architects of Mobius. Builders can create anything from a simple fence to a castle, and beyond. Limited only by their imaginations, builders are the main creative force in Mobius.
Hunters: The world of Mobius has forces of creation, and forces of destruction. Hunters are equally equipped in offense and defense, having the ability to use weapons crafted by builders, as well as possessing powerful destructive magic of their own.
It is the interplay of these forces, of creation and destruction that will define the world of Mobius.
So which will you choose?

So we have a bit of a dilemma. There's a tie. I had planned on, in the event of a tie, trying my best to encompass both choices. But now that I am here looking at the situation, that solution seems kind of like a cop out. So what do all of you think I should do?
Or maybe you would just have me combine the two choices now?
Maybe I should extend voting until 12PM Noon (EST) tomorrow? And if at that point it is still a tie, just do them both?
