Lynchian visions
A man supposedly walked into one of the art galleries of the film director David Lynch, and asked the secret of how he painted such disturbing images.
Lynch replied, "I paint every single day."
Such simplicity from Lynch, but it really stuck in my head Everyday I now attempt the same with my writing. In fact I now write more than I read. I edit, publish and comment on my blogs everyday.
My own writing
I know my own writing has improved since I joined Steemit and tips on writing articles from people like @ericvancewalton have certainly helped. I'm always struggling with punctuation, tenses and action verbs, but at least I know my editing is getting a lot quicker!
I've gone from a writing nobody to someone who commands $3-4 an article when the rewards pool is fully refreshed and I'm quite happy with that as I muse away on a variety of subjects.
All I need to do is just make an appearance at the computer keyboard on with lap tray and I'm good to go.
Finally my last tip is a weird one. Copy out the works of the great masters. Start with a short story and write it down like it's a punishment. This feels totally useless and impractical, but it works for musicians and sculptors so it can work for you too. Try it. You'll soon start to feel an instinct kick in around page three or four I promise you!
Love to hear your own suggestions in the comments below.
All I do is write down random words and sometimes they have no connection. Sometimes I sketch things beside them, sometimes I write full lines. Nobody understands that but myself. I keep quiet most of the time and I feared a whole lot in the past letting people read what I wrote. It was painful for me and now I see it differently.
When my writing process takes over me, it seems like somebody else's incorporated my body. Sometimes I cry violently when something happens to characters I create, sometimes I laugh so much with them too. I can tell, I like when it happens! Sometimes I create things I will understand me alone, no one else (well, this is what I think). It is a crazy and yet stable moment for me and after all my catharsis, I can finally wait for the second wave to strike me: meditation!
As David Lynch is not clear to many, and this is the most beautiful thing for me, try and understand what can't be understood, but surely there must be a key somewhere, and the looking for this key is "the key". Crazy, isn't it? No, not for me!
Try and read Clarice Lispector. She is the writer I love the most and her work is so much similar to David Lynch's work. Another one is José Saramago, he is my HERO! (I have to stop now, tears don't allow to see the keyboard right...)

I will definitely check out those reading source you provide @manandezo - I kinda thought you might like my Lynchian inclusion there - it's in one of my other vids today too. Such dedicated simplicity :)

One of my college professors gave us the Twain quote. "Substitute 'damn' every time you're inclined to write 'very;' your editor will delete it and the writing will be just as it should be."

Stephen King's book "On Writing" has some of the best and most practical writing advice I've read. You don't have to be a fan of his novels to learn from him. But the real key, as you already know, is to write every day. Also, read your work out loud. And revise, revise, revise!
