HUMILITY OF A RICH STREET GIRL.

Every Sunday by 6:30 AM she would be at the church premises putting on T-shirts, faded jeans and slippers. She would go to the chapel to clean and arrange the seats. For seven years, she has been committed and diligent in cleaning the chapel, she never miss a single day. One fateful morning, a young man came to pray in the chapel and met her still cleaning the chapel. 

After praying, he sat down and watched as she cleaned. He got impressed as the lady went on cleaning the chapel and was surprised that a young lady could be so dedicated to the service of the church. He thought to himself that the young lady might be a street girl who got no one to take care of her schooling and who may even be a petty trader or selling orange to survive.  

As he watched her, he felt a voice from within telling him to do something for the young lady. He left the chapel and went to his car. He brought out a small bag containing $100. Waited for the young lady to finish the cleaning of the chapel. As he was about to leave, he called her and commended her for the good work she was doing and handed the small bag containing the money to her. The young lady rejected the gift but he persuaded her to collect. 

He inquired if she was living closeby so he could give her a ride. As not to be late. She appreciated his kind gesture. They  walked out of the chapel and he was so determined to find everything about her.  As they were walking out of the chapel, he was telling her how he was touched by God to help her. 

He went further to tell her how he woke up early from sleep and rushed down to the chapel not knowing that it was God who was directing him to help her. He got so busy talking to her that they walked past his car. 

They got to a Mercedes Benz G-Wagon parked under a tree close to the chapel.  The Mercedes Benz G-Wagon made the the man’s car look like an old wheelbarrow. She got into the Mercedes Benz G-Wagon car and handed $2,000 and her business card to him saying 

“I believe God sent you here for a purpose, but I do not think it was to change my level, May be it was to change yours.”  

The young man was shocked and dumbed founded as he stood there while the young lady drove off. He never knew that God has a purpose of bringing him to church that day and that was to teach him the lesson of humility of which he learnt so well. 

We are created in the image of God but at one time we learn our lesson from the things we least expect that would teach us a good lesson.  

Be humble, trust and obey.
