I know how much stress non-Africans, especially Europeans and Americans, would go through trying to pronounce that name Otagburuagu πŸ˜‚. So before I go on with this post I'll like to make a DISCLAIMER - To the general public: whomever looses a tooth or more (as is expected) or bites his/her tongue or lip or cheeks in the futile attempt to pronounce the name "Otagburuagu" shall not be capable of proceeding in a court action against @nevies or his associates because, by virtue of this disclaimer, @nevies and his consortium has been absolved from every fathomable liability that the health hazard of pronouncing this name may inflict on Americans, Europeans, and people of other parts of the world. Thank you.

Phew! Feels really good to finally get that off my chest. LOL.

Hello good people of Steemland, this write-up was forged to intimate you about the character Professor Otagburuagu who became popular in some sphere.
And to also tell you about the collaboration between myself and @katharsisdrill that would see us creating more art and short stories revolving around the Professor Otagburuagu character, so read on, I implore.

Professor Otagburuagu (meaning: "one who kills a lion by biting and chewing it) is a character that was forged in my own part of Steemshorts (an @adsactly short story competition that still goes on week after week). I had participated in Steemshorts 1 (it's first edition) and my part was where the Professor was created. The character Professor Otagburuagu is:

enigma personified; an extremely mysterious middle-aged dark skinned man. He was a Professor of Ritualistic Arts and there have never been a more handy man than he. He was a Medical doctor, a surgeon, practitioner of several dark arts, therapist, bone setter, evil genious, legal adviser, spiritual adviser, and pretty much everything similarly helpful! He had, magical might, charms, ingenuity, etc, and he was consulted far and wide by the elite class (usually criminals) and anyone who could afford his exorbitant fees, to profer solution to their problems, give them pieces of advice, etc. His clientelle came from all works of life and politicians were not an exception.

He featured in the story as the one who had all the answers, and gave his trademark brilliant advice to another character who was in great need of a criminal mind. You can read the whole story here.

Professor Otagburuagu's featuring in the Steemshorts 1 was greeted with a lot of approval and liking from many who read the story. You can see this from the comments.

And when it was time the Steemshorts 1 needed artists to make illustrations of their choice from the whole story, and compete for the illustration that would be chosen, more approval of the character of the Professor could be gotten.

@katharsisdrill won the illustration contest with this art of his that really stunned me, because it was almost exactly what I had in my imagination while I wrote that scene! The coincidence was so striking to me, and this was my reaction:

Really, it had seemed like he had taken a photo of my imagination.

This combination of @katharsisdrill's art and my story was just a great match and thus was bound to grow. @katharsisdrill then expresses interest in having me make more short stories about the professor while he makes more illustrations of the stories, it was a perfect idea and backed by a number of people, like @shortcut and the host of the Steemshorts @vcelier.

So after a simple agreement to a collaboration, we present to you The Professor Otagburuagu Series!

Thanks, man, but you only Upvoted, you didn't resteem!

Seems like professor otagburuagu is both the master of good and bad things. Even as an African I find it difficult to pronounce I wonder how the whites will pronounce it then lol.

Lol 😁😁

@katharsisdrill .. Am a lover of art. This piece is good.. Kudos. #Shine on

Although I've not had the opportunity to see the original story, the character description of the professor is surely intriguing. He seems like an eccentric and considering the details paid to the nuances of his overall personality, I think I can safely conclude that this is indeed a well developed character. My reading taste buds have been activated and I'm looking forward to the series. It's also commendable how @karthasisdrill has taken interest developing this work with you. It in facts goes to show how much Steemit is doing to encourage acceptance and tolerance of diversity (like a non Nigerian, non igbo, making effort to understand and represent a culture that's not his) a good example indeed
