The mysterious anecdotes of my aunt (6th Entry). "A frog in the bathroom"

   I'm going to talk you about another story that my dear aunt told me, it is about something that happened in her apartment in Caracas, where my aunt, her husband and their son lived, the boy was approximately eight years old. They did not want him to discoverer something strange that began to happen to them in the apartment, they didn't want that their son listened the comments raised as a result of them, so as not to inculcate fears or superstitions in the boy.

   The apartment is located on a six floor and the strange situation that I am going to tell you is about the appearance of a yellow frog in one of the apartment's bathrooms. The first time the frog appeared it was stuck to the wall, it was small, its color was a kind of yellow, She had never seen it in that color, its big eyes looked in a frightening way, its eyes looked in a strange way and it really instilled fear. When this happened, her son was not in the apartment, she called her husband, who was surprised. She asked him not to discuss it with the son, and to look for a plastic cup, He catch the frog with the glass and then He left the place with his glass covered and out of the set released the frog.

   Some days after the frog's apparition, It began to happen numerous situations that could be classified as setbacks, accidents with the car, conflict situations, unexpected economic expenses, although they did not say anything about it, the atmosphere was constant uneasiness, inexplicable problems, there was no peace. Many days after my uncle removed the frog, my aunt and him were impressed because the appearance of the frog happened again and for their surprise it had the same yellow color, it appeared in the same bathroom, the situation of its appearance and the arrival of various problems was a fact and although they did not comment the possible coincidence between the appearance of the frog and the arrival of the inconveniences, both felt it, their husband particularly was not superstitious and never believed in supernatural facts. Each time the frog arrived, he would take it out and throw it away from the residential complex. There were numerous times that her husband went out to throw the frog. Every time the bathroom needed, a concern was generated and the first thing to do was to check the bathroom, because it was not very reassuring to think that if someone was bathing, that uncomfortable visitor would appear. She did not stop wondering. How could that frog get to a six floor if it came through the window? Would it be jumping from the ground floor to reach a six floor? Did the frog had memory to locate the same floor and the same place? Were they many frogs that by coincidence chose the same floor? She did not have answers for these questions.

   A close friend of the family came to visit and as usual stayed several days, was a person of great confidence and my aunt told her what was happening with the frog and the problems that occurred after its arrival. That same night my aunt went to the bathroom and there was the frog. At that time the son discovered everything, her husband proceeded to remove the frog. The friend told my aunt "Don't worry, I'm going to make sure she does not come back. I'm going to take out everything in the bathroom completely, I'm going to do a special cleaning, I'm going to use a strong smelling liquid like ammonia and I assure you that the frog will not come back". The friend proceeded to clean the bathroom and she said that we they had to close the door and the window and that nobody should use the bathroom on that night. Concluded the task sat in the room to talk, after a while my aunt said "I will check the bathroom" and for her surprise, she found the yellow frog attached to the ceramic wall, as it were saying "Here I am" Alarmed called her husband and the friend nobody could believe it, there was the frog, the son also went to the bathroom, but what he did not know was that his dad had taken it many times.

   Fear seized my aunt. How did it enter If the door and the window were closed? her husband proceeded to remove it, after that they commented about the strange event and my aunt kept analyzing in her head how that little frog infused that fear on her, as a biologist she believes in science and as a prove that she was familiarized with the biggest and ugliest toads, t she had made her first ascent work with an investigation about the toad "Bufo marinus"  in the animal physiology laboratory of the science faculty where there was even a tank with Many toads collected in the Araira region that were used for different research projects by different researchers working in that laboratory.

   On another occasion my aunt told another trusted friend, this one suggested that until that frog was killed, the problems would continue, she told my aunt, they should place it in a glass jar, cover it well, leave her out of the house and when she dies they must burn her with kerosene, she told her husband and he said that when the frog reappeared he would take care of her. So when it appeared again he had prepared the jar and the kerosene, he left with his bottle containing the frog, tightly covered, the son left with him and they left the bottle in a path that was close to the building and left the bottle with the kerosene and they left with the purpose of returning the following week to see if the frog had died. They came back again the following week and for their surprise the frog was alive. They repeated the visit week after week and the little animal was there, they were checking the bottle and after two months, the frog stilled alive in the jar which was small, her husband told my aunt "I do not go back to check that frog, she stills alive "and the jar with the kerosene was no longer in the place.

   My aunt wondered how could she live so long without oxygen or food? After all this neither they revise the bottle with the frog nor the animal reappear in the bathroom and in an incredible way all the problems that were afflicting them dissipated, everything returned to its normal course.

   As a person who believes in science, my aunt has no explanation for such events, but like that old saying "I do not believe in witches, but do they fly? they fly!", my uncles got rid of the yellow frog and they never heard of it again.
