Nelspruit

New Premises
2017 saw many new and interesting changes for our little home away from home. We have, after being in the same premises for about ten years, moved to a new building that provides us with much more office space and a very spacious workshop. Certainly the best “perk” for us is that Nelspruit now also has its own boardroom. Our image to our clients is also greatly improved as the new premises displays much more professional. We are still in the same business complex, so the move did not affect our clients in any way.

HSE
Further to our commitment to improve our focus on Health & Safety and provide our personnel with a safe working environment, the Nelspruit and Polokwane teams came together over a weekend to complete the Working in Confined spaces and Working at Heights courses. The importance of this training wasfurther enhanced as this training had to be in place before our customers would allow us on their sites to perform any work.

We are also proud to announce that after a visit from Andre Dreyden, where he gave us training regarding HSE we are on our way to become a safer and cleaner operation. We are expecting that by Q3 this year we should be able to comply fully with the requirements of the OHS act.

Team building
Early morning on the 13th of May we found ourselves in Malelane attending the Selati fun run. We even had our own T-shirts made. As can be seen by the photo, it was a very cold and wet day but our spirits were high. As a team we find it very important to sometimes play as hard as we work. And to end off 2017 the Polokwane and Nelspruit teams came together for a final goodbye. Good "potjie kos", family and friends.

"My branch"

And then last but certainly by far not the least, we would like to mention the heart of our operation, Thembi. With her smile, positive attitude and amazing personality she deserves a mention. Thembi is like our mother and being the only lady in the team keeps all of us in line, whether it’s her arguing that we quote to low or that your office is a mess. GEA Nelspruit and Polokwane is certainly “Her” branches, and we are so grateful to have her. From the whole team, thank you Thembi! You make the difference every single day.

Hi Quintin. Groete van die Kaap uit.

I work in the HVAC industry, we work a lot in the drydock and in buildings. I am our company's HSE Officer. I have only been at it for about 4 years but I have a TechSAIOSH, Fall Protection Planner Training (from NOSA) and am busy with that long long process to register with SACPCMP.

Cool to see others in the industry!
