There is a rage that ignites on me when I read a post or even a comment that is just plainly absurd. Suddenly I find myself on a war path with this user who has wrong me, who betrayed my time by making me read its stupidity; And then, I realized that engaging with its content will just probably increase this troll's power.
When battling with a troll, the first thing you must understand is that you are not dealing with a rational human being. For this scum of the internet, the only important thing is to create maximum chaos and will use all and any means necessary to archive its purpose. No matter how well thought out and rational your line of reasoning is they will not care and answer you back with your mama jokes.
Think about why do you need to answer this kind of comments.
Nowadays, we, all, know a lot about a lot of different topics. No, that this is essentially bad, although it leaves us with a lot of knowledge and no a way to use it. Sometimes we feel the need to answer trolls just because we know or believe something, they don't know, but reflexion on it and you will discover that the only goal of replying is to inflate our own ego.
You have the right to say something, no, the duty to confront an outrageous idea. Well, might be, if you have a following and someone posts something under your post that sounds coherent, but could be malnterpreted, try to use clear and concise language to clear it up without creating much fuss. Acknowledge their point of view but make clear why you disagree. If you feel a battle starting disengage; just end the responses and most probably the troll will stop after a little venting.
Closing, trolls are incoherent internet users that don't care about your ideas. You should not be answering their comments just to show up your knowledge of a topic and when in need of responding try not to waste energy entertaining a clearly bored person on the other side of the screen. My personal inclination to dealing with trolls is not to respond, no matter how mad or outrage I'm by their criticisms, I understand there little to not gain if I respond their ideas. the internet is big and at often crazy is basically up to us to create our own rules to deal with different situations. Let's try to keep it positive and move on!
