May you live in interesting times, is supposed to be some kind of Chinese curse. Which may or may not be actually true. But does that really even matter? The most interesting turning points in human history have been in times of crisis and turmoil. Human beings live in their myths. They only suffer their realities.
We are all suffering through the new reality of this pandemic. But we are living in the myths of the 'new reality'. It's a Rorschach test for everyone, the end of capitalism, mother earth teaching us harsh lessons, chia-com plot to enslave us, 5G side effect or a test run for when the aliens finally come to take over the planet because we have failed so bad at this experiment of life.
A kaleidoscope of reality tunnels, spinning around and around, where do we stop nobody knows. But I can tell you one thing. Normal is a myth. There is no normal. Normal is that which nobody is. Who is the most 'normal' person you know? Now sit down and listen to them very closely, you'll see that they're all mad in different and interesting ways, and are merely struggling to hide it.
So may we live in interesting times indeed. Maybe we were always in interesting times, whether we realized it or not. Maybe more and more of us are just waking up to the realization that the future is up for grabs. It belongs to any and all who will take the risk and accept the responsibility of consciously creating the future they want.
Here's to the new normal, may it be stranger then we can ever suppose. Cheers!
