I'm currently working on a novel, and short stories help me shake the cobwebs out when I feel like I've become too close to the book to be objective about it anymore.
Good to hear it. I read a LOT of short stories on Steemit and more often than not i get a few hundred words in and get bored. Its testament to you that I read this all the way though and it's one of the longer short stories that has popped up.
