In last 2-3 years, there are many platforms- which offer writers for there creative content. The question is what is the model- these platforms work upon- and what is best way?

  1. Medium- Anyone with a Medium account can post. You are paid on read. There is Membership for readers. So a percentage of this membership is distributed to content creators. The program is called Medium Partnership Program. However, if you are from India, unfortunately you cannot be part of this program, as Medium uses Stripe- and Stripe in India is still in Beta version.

  2. Vocal - Again with a Vocal account can post. The payment is based on reads. However if you are member, which they cal Vocal+ the rates for reads are more. Though Vocal also uses Stripe to pay the content writers. You can open an account and get a payout even if you are from India.

Both these models pay per read, and the money they get from their members. Medium is comparatively old, and has good readership base. Vocal on the other hand is still establishing. Medium allows one to create Publications- where many writers can get together and write for one publication. And Vocal there is an option of tip- the readers can directly tip the writer. And both pay in real cash.

Authors get paid when people like you upvote their post.
