Aduke..... Premonitions of a Mother's Fear!!!!

She sat curled up in a corner of her room, her heart beating faster than the drum of the spirits, her face pale as if she had seen a ghost, beads of sweat rolled down her cheeks as though she had just taken a shower. This was a rather strange reaction for someone whose child was dying. What pain! What horror she had to bear. The joy of motherhood they say lies in watching her offspring grow and eventually to take care of her in every way, the love of a mother is almost like d power of a phoenix, no matter how many times it dies a new one is born right from its ashes. Mariam knew however that she would never forgive herself for this blunder, for letting her long awaited only daughter fall for that miscreant, but even she was fooled by his charms, respect, his strength and all that energy....... Ajayi was indeed every spinsters dream. Now even Mariam won't get to see the long awaited grandchild, because child and mother the husband had pounced on the innocent foetus. Oh what a cruel world. Aduke moaned in pain and gasped for air, her mother sat in such a helpless state,anger was neither the appetizer nor the dessert. She just wanted her little girl back.

Aduke’s tilted head held her mother's gaze as salty beady tears rolled down their faces, Aduke mumbled something that sounded like her last word, Mariam now by her side, held her tight, stay with me adukemi,don't leave me in this cruel world,their grips tightened, Aduke whispered......wake up Maa’mi, you are having bad dreams again..Pheeeew! Sighed Mariam,then a piercing shriek from Aduke as she stood in a pool of water, , Mariam smiled, its coming.........I shall name her feyikumi.

My story is about a mother having a premonitions of her child in an abusive relationship, and the only thing between fiction and reality is the strength of the Mind.
