"Interested"

in writing •  4 years ago

You see a post in a Facebook group, asking for writers.

What do you do?

For starters, you don't reply "Interested" and walk away.

That just shows how you expect the client to do all the work of chasing you, enquiring about your niches and experience, asking you for samples and so on.

Make their job as easy as possible.

  • Check that you match what they're looking for.
  • Check their preferred contact method (private message, email, comment, web page or something else).
  • Put together a short introduction explaining why you fit and what you offer.
  • Add any details they need: expected pay rates, delivery times, how to contact you and so on.

Given the huge number of replies they'll get, your job is to make life easy for them.

"Interested" means nothing.
