I spent my first and best Valentine’s Day with my husband, but before he became my husband. We knew ourselves through our mutual friends and had already been making outings as mutual friends until gradually we noticed we were becoming closer and closer. So we agreed to make the Valentine’s Day our official date. I had a hunch that he had a thing for Movies and TV so I requested that we go to the cinema. As we stood in the line at the Cinema, he whispered a question into my ears: “what do you want to watch?”. I chose “The Lovely Bones” thinking it was romantic since it sounded so also the poster looked kind of dreamy. Little did I know it was horrific; story of a pedophile raping and murdering little kids. Afterwards I felt so ashamed; I thought he would think me to be weird since that was actually our official date, but when I explained, he was cool with it and we had much fun watching the piece. It may not have been the best first date nor the best Val date in the conventional sense, but I had good fun and a memorable day.
