Extreme intelligency is actually dangerous

Yes, I believe so. The further you are from the norm, this seems to inhibit social interaction, or EQ. In many cases, at work or not, you really don’t have a “peer group”. This can cause a feeling of isolation, and inhibit social interaction. In early education, some can get “pigeon-holed”, and many of my highly intelligent friends had a lack of social skills or shyness in social situations as adults. This can be misinterpreted by others as being aloof or stuck-up. I was so shy in high school that I didn’t socialize normally and I found out later that many in my school thought I was just stuck-up or saw myself as better than them. I believe this caused many others to have feelings of anger towards me. Unless one finds a way to cope with this and try to “fit in”, it can lead to a very lonely existence.

Side note: On the show, Big Bang, Sheldon’s mother told him that if he keeps talking to others about his intelligence, it just pisses them off.

Intelligence is a strange thing to measure, I am quite intelligent (135 IQ), but I have done many dumb things in life too... I overanalyse, I sense things I shouldn't sense, I feel I comprehended by lots of people... Still I live a normal life. The thing is, you need to find social platforms that suit you, goals that fit you, challenges that reward you and you will feel much more appreciated and accepted! Go for it!

I don't remember who said "intelligence is a well kept secret" ! Do yo know the difference between an intelligent and a stupid person ?
An intelligent person can pretend to be stupid the other way around is impossible.

So could you get out of the "loneliness" fast, after high school? what helped you? Usually what works for me is to read about it, finding out that other's have the same "issue" then i get out of the "funk" easier. i guess. :)
