My Story: Content is the King, Why?, lets here it then! [2018 updated]

write.pngOkay, so, let's cut the crap, and get down to the nitty gritty, shall we?

Now, we all have heard of, "Content is the king." Period.

Even though many of us have heard of it but really very few people know the science behind it.

So just like the content is King, it's also a known fact that the content market is oversaturated these days.

Gone are the days when writers would compromise on low rates.

Now any writer you approach will demand $$ without actually having any real writing skills.

Now, there's nothing wrong with demanding decent rates (since this is our bread and butter).

But you should also analyze your skills before demanding a hefty amount.

Ask yourself

Do I have flawless grammar?

Do I write like a native English speaker?

Do I have a way with words and flowing ideas?

Are my ideas original or overrated?

Am I aware with the basics of punctuation or do I merely rely on tools?

Do I thoroughly edit and proofread my work before sending it to a client?

Am I familiar with sentence construction?

If you said yes to most of the above points, then congratulations, you deserve to get paid well, if you answered no, then I am afraid you need to lower your rate a bit and take each project as a learning experience.

In the beginning of my writing career, I never argued on rates, I was focused more on getting a positive feedback, honest review of my work, and a recommendation or two to another buyer. That's all I asked for. And it has worked well for me.
