A Reflection of Sorts / We all have the ability to change the world...

A late night piece I wrote... in a reflective thought process. An exercise in just letting thoughts flow out freely... I do this often, follow for regular updates!

It's so easy to ignore the truth... when you're so complacent with believing the lies... when you are so self consumed that you don't even see what's going on, right outside your door... It's so simple to live life like you're invincible... like only bad things happen to other people... until the day it happens to you... and you're grasping to find reason... purpose... stable ground to walk on... support... hope... something... more.

and yet...

we are all so much more than what little time we have in this life... and at the end of the day... what kind of impact you made and left behind... is really all that will remain... pictures will fade... memories and stories will only be passed down for so long... before they are forgotten... lives will go on... the world will spin on... and the people who said they would never forget you... they would never leave your side... will move on and vanish...

but...

have you ever been lost in a moment? dreaming of ways to change? yourself... your community... the world... have you awoken from that dream and forgotten it, because, the hurdles and walls would be too much of a challenge to get through? until 1 day... what will you do when you find that the walls in front of you, that you see no chance of breaking through, remained intact while you were so focused on them stopping you... that you didn't even realize that they were ever so slowly backing you into a corner and you wake up to find... your back is against the wall...

we all have the ability and power to change the world... maybe only on some small, seemingly unnoticeable level... but when each unnoticeable change...creates a ripple... movement has begun...

we all have the ability and power to change the world...

just not necessarily the fortitude.
