First Writing Struggles

in writing •  7 years ago

Staring at my keyboard trying to write something meaningful for my first post but drawing a blank. I was never any good at writing, so why did I think that this would go better? Its 1:30 in the morning and I'm not really tired so I just started writing about my first post struggle. I started by trying to draft up an introductory post. That went about as expected for someone who never care about grammar or punctuation. None the less I finished it and there it sits waiting for me to post it. I sent a copy to my neighbor because I felt it was inadequate. Now I wait for him to wake up and see the disaster hoping that it doesn't literally bore him to death. He was forewarned!
I've always felt like my life was boring. I tend to do the same things over and over. Go to work put in 8 - 12 hours come home relax with some video games or Netflix, then repeat. From time to time I'd make plans to go hang out with friends. But as I sit here writing and thinking about it. This year I've done things I never thought I would. I participated in a 8 k walk it wasn't the race I wanted to do but it was a start next time I will be ready for the whole 10 miles. Also I got my race car running something I had waited for my brother to help me with for 3 years. But as soon as I decided I wasn't waiting for him it got done and motivated him to help me finish it.
I also started this post not knowing where it would go or if I would even finish it. I know that my writing skills are beginner at best but here I am finishing my first post looking forward to start a new challenge and ready to pass out. It is now 2 in the morning and I feel better about my decision to start a steemit account.
