Despite the pool of writing talent over at The Writers' Block, it never hurts to keep one's mind open to further learning. As such, we have created a spreadsheet in Google Docs linking to Steemit posts filled with useful hints, tips, and writing advice. We have pinned it in our Discord server for easy access, but here it is for people who have not joined us yet:

Library of Infinite Knowledge

@AnikeKirsten has done a sterling job compiling this list of resources from Steemians such as @grocko, @Screenwriterml, @deemarshall, @jeffreymartin, @waqasaps. She also included several of her own insightful and educational posts.

Contest

Do you have any writing advice, hints or tips? Write an original post and link it below in the replies and we will consider it for inclusion in the Library of Infinite Knowledge.

One lucky person who's post we find to be the most useful and informative will win 10 Steem.

Two runners up will each win 5 Steem.

Please, be sure it is your own work - we will check.

Because of Christmas being so close, this contest will run for two weeks, ending at midnitght UTC / GMT on January 4th.

EDIT: DISCLAIMER - This project by @anikekirsten is endorsed The Writers' Block. The content is intended as a resource and The Writers' Block is not responsible for monitoring the quality or accuracy of the information contained within.

Oh my there so many and I'll want to read all of those!
Thank you for sharing.
Good thing that esteem has a book mark function.

Much to get written....

Looove the idea! Spreading knowledge is always a great idea. Quick question, is it okay to use an older post I wrote and add more information to it or would you prefer fresh content from scratch?

Thanks!

All will be considered.

Oh, I'm so excited about this. And now I have new people to follow and watch. Thanks for this initiative. I'll share links to my posts about fiction writing. I started a series a few months ago, when I was looking for a formal workshop and hadn't yet found The Writers' Block. I will be continuing the series after the holidays. :^)

As a preface note, the impetus for this series was two-fold: (1) I have had a lifelong fear of sharing my own fiction work and wanted to break through that and help others to do the same; (2), I needed a plan for something to regularly write about on Steemit, and I have a long history of studying and working on the mechanics of fiction (as well as a masters degree in creative writing).

Here are the links to my fiction workshop posts:

Best advice when it comes to writing--write! and read. But of course there are more. Will surely participate.

This is a really good idea.

Here is a submission for developing your own poetic style:

Nice idea! You can never have enough libraries! I'll give this one some thought, based on what I've learned so far!

This is a great idea. Here is my entry.

Ah, very interesting! I'm very new to Steemit, but not to writing... So will look forward to adding a post on this in the coming days. Will let you know once I do, to enter it for the contest, which I think is a great idea. Thanks also for the document, great to have so many resources pooled! <3

So glad to be a part of this. This is my entry here

I do an ongoing column for IGMS, focusing on the science part of SF, offering writers ideas old and new from the research literature and pop science books. It is free to read. This month will be the 25th installment.

Ok, I've decided to start posting about this, hopefully the things I've learned over the years will help and inspire other people as well. I'm planning to write about many things, like editing, finding a good publisher, the possibility of music, and the usefulness of structure. But I'm new to Steemit, so have started with part I: on habit. Hope you find it useful!

My entry: On Writing Part I: on Habits & Finding the Way to Be Yourself

Thank you again for putting all this together! Here are my most recent additional posts:

Thanks so much for considering my entries, @GMuxx!
