Tulpa

Upon retiring to my bed Thursday night,
A thought blossomed in the garden of my mind.
A creature I did visualize there by my side
With skin a soft and powdery periwinkle hue.
I crowned his head with golden curls
Pinned intermittently with crystalline baubles.
I painted his eyes a deep fairy green and
Graced him with fangs and a sultry pair of wings.
I imagined we were lovers as I drifted off to sleep...
Fevered night filled with teases and torments.
So well did I like this self induced bliss,
That it soon became habit, my little evening ritual.
I daydreamed oft to pretend that we shared
Our days and nights such as normal folk do,
Picnics by the lake shore and tv dinners for two...
By night, jaunts through the forest and old gothic halls.
Until, one morning I awoke with an unfamiliar start
To find my sanguisuge by the stove flipping pancakes.

I very much like the imagery in this poem. I also very much like the color Periwinkle.

Thanks so much! I love the color too :)

a lovely pic for a lovely poem. I appreciate your use of obscure words as part of your art form. You are truly gifted, Tina.

BTW, I would like to use your poem, "The Blue Wind's Return", as inspiration for a story, if you approve.

I never know where the muses take me, or if they'll suddenly leave me ...so many unfinished pieces it's a wonder I write anything at all.

Let me know. Nothing may come of it, or I might actually follow through.

This poetry. I never know what I'm going to say.
I don't plan it.
When I'm outside the saying of it,
I get very quiet and rarely speak at all.

Thank you so much for your thoughts, John. I'd be honored for you to use it. The poem has special meaning to me, and I would enjoy reading what it evokes in you. :) Truly, I am a fan of your work.

I'm glad, Tina. I only hope it comes to fruition - sometimes I start and nothing pops, hence my caveat

...and I a fan of yours :)
