Hello lovilies , it's been a long and a tiring day for me, I read a handbook(sociology of education) today and I decided to do a review about it tonight. It's just a fracture part of it.
CULTURE
The most generally accepted definition of culture was given by Tylor[1871] an American Anthropologist.
He said
culture is a complex whole which includes knowledge, belief art, morals, law, custom and any other capabilities and habits acquired by man as a member of society.
My review on this definition is that he sees culture as a complete way of life.
Another scholar kneller[1970] defined culture as
the totality of ways of life that have evolved through history. A particular culture is the total shared life of a given people, their models of thinking, as expressed in religion, law language, art, technology, child-bearing and of course, education.
In all Kneller tells us that culture permeates every facet of life.

TRAITS OF CULTURE
Man is the only entity with culture but culture transcends individuals
The culture of all race differs and vary considerably.
Culture is never static meaning culture undergoes changes in every sphere of human endeavour.
COMPONENTS OF CULTURE
Culture has been divided into three bodies.
Tangible or intangible culture
tangible culture is that aspect that can be touched or felt like the buildings, dresses, this refers to the outgrowth of the human society, a group of people.
Intangible culture refers the that part that can't be touched or felt like morals, values attitudes, interest, language, customs, belief and intangible culture is also known as mentifact or symbolic cultureReal Culture This refers to the expected belief and behaviours of a group of people. This means practicing culture the way it ought to be practiced.
Language culture Language is the main, potent transference for culture from one generation to another. It let's cultural people reflect and modify their behaviour in the light of what the past generations did learn.
That will be all, I just gave a summary of a sixty page handout.
