Since the dawn of time, humankind has always strived to document their thoughts, what they witness and the ideas that they want to impress upon their fellow people. It started with cave drawings, mostly because there wasn't a better medium to document what happened in their lives. Without the benefit of language, cave dwellers were forced to create drawings to represent their memories and ideas.
Fast forward a few centuries when humans developed some semblance of a language had rudimentary tools and the ability to fashion stone into tablets and you have the earliest version of the notebook computer. Well, maybe that's a bit of a stretch, but documenting their thoughts onto a portable medium like a stone tablet, and we truly do witness man's desire to take their writing.
A few more centuries down the road, humans discovered that all the trees growing around them could be turned into parchment and rudimentary inks could be used to put pen to paper, so to say. The invention of paper was one of the most overlooked creations in human advancement, With paper, the written word could be preserved theoretically forever, (everything needed to be rewritten as the paper started to break down) as well as making it much easier to distribute to the masses.
Not long after the invention of paper, some brilliant person discovered a groundbreaking technology called binding. This is a process where many sheets of parchment could attached together and protected via a hard front and back cover, usually constructed with wood or leather. Voila, the book was invented!
It should be understood that books were the technology of many different centuries and not only aided in the spreading of thought and ideas, but entertained the population of Earth on a mass scale. Books undeniably influenced the planet's societies as never experienced before, (the Bible, the Curan, etc) and shaped the way we think like nothing else before it, or after it for that matter.
It's at this stage in human history when technology really started to take hold. Probably more important than the book itself, was the invention of the printing press. The printing press ushered in a new age of publishing the written word. Gone were the days of manually writing and rewriting single copies. Books and periodicals could mass produced for the first time and the ability to influence the people was never the same again.
Newspapers, magazines, flyers and leaflets followed and the rest they say is history. It's been said before that technology brings faster technology and it wasn't long till the invention of the personal computer gave the entire world the ability to initially print, then subsequently, digitally distribute their deepest thoughts. The personal computer enabled us all to break the shackles imposed by powerful publishers and go straight to market with our written ideas.
Great things like Steemit followed and made it possible for anyone in the world to open a proverbial can o woop ass with their creativity.
Our whole universe was in a hot, dense state
Then nearly fourteen billion years ago expansion started, wait
The earth began to cool, the autotrophs began to drool
Neanderthals developed tools
We built a wall (we built the pyramids)
Math, science, history, unraveling the mysteries
That all started with the big bang! Hey!
Since the dawn of man is really not that long
As every galaxy was formed in less time than it takes to sing this song
A fraction of a second and the elements were made
The bipeds stood up straight, the dinosaurs all met their fate
They tried to leap but they were late
And they all died (they froze their asses off)
The oceans and Pangea, see ya wouldn't wanna be ya
Set in motion by the same big bang!
It all started with the big bang!
BANG!

The archiving of human thought is definitely the most interesting development in human history so far.
This is a pretty thought-provoking post, especially with that dense poem at the end.
Keep up
