The Ely Pass Accident

That's a lot of jackrabbits! In my case, the cow just stood there, so I spun the backend of the car rather than hit him head on. A heard a small "thump" and remember thinking "that wasn't so bad." Of course, there was the indentation of the cow in my car. I still had 200 miles to go, so I just yanked out the dent around the rear wheel with my tire iron and kept on trucking. I never did hear about any dead cows in the Nevada desert. Insurance paid for the fix and I kept the car for a few more years.
