Dear Mr. President

in writing •  7 years ago

I fear the life of everyone around me
Because you pulled the tigger
You sent your men down a rabbit hole
Of violence in search of reason and justice
To keep us mesmerized by your control
Along the way you shot a life
OF 1, 2,3 ,4, 5 thousand

You made a presidential decree
That every single one of us is a target
Of a crime not committed
6, 7, 8, 9, thousand more
To reach your daily quota
For a war you've created

Your house is built with the bones
OF 10, 11, 12, 13 thousand of your countrymen
Dear Mr. President they all have names
But with a laugh and nonchalant smile
Who cares for bloodshed?
When you think you're keeping is fed
With lies, conspiracies guised as democracy

You damned us to hell
Watching us burn with your consequences
Dear Mr. President

Kian, Carl, Reynaldo, do they ring a bell?
You visit their grave with a mask
Pulling off a show for the cameras
It's frustating how they couldn't tell
It was you behind the murder

Dear Mr. President how many more?
14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19 and maybe 20 thousand
Wait until we're ashes on the ground
Dear Mr. President, how many of us
Should die to make you stop?
