100 DAYS OF STEEM : Day 11 - Weekly Writing Challenge #2

My favourite film by a distance is American Psycho, starring Christian Bale. I never got to see it in the cinema as I was 8 when it was released but I've seen it online 5 times. The main character, Patrick Bateman, is a professional in a company by day and serial killer by night. He sort of exacts revenge on people he doesn't like at his job, that he makes out to be foolish or popular for no good reason. And he kills girlfriends and prostitutes for good measure. However there is a twist, Bateman is an unreliable narrator so towards the end we find out there is no evidence to suggest he did the things he was shown as doing. I found the film thoroughly entertaining and enjoyable, a disconnect from the real world and a journey into the life of someone with dark fantasies and no grip on reality.
Also Bateman is charming and for the early part of the film in full control of his life.

In some sense it resonates with the desire some people have at times to get revenge but the reality that you shouldn't act on the desires.
