Hello everyone,
My favourite meal is Doner Kebab.
It is very popular in my country, it is sold in all restaurants.
It is also very popular in Germany.
Doner means "turn" in Turkish, because cooked meat is on a vertical rotisserie.
Meat is turned slowly on the rotisserie and it is next to a vertical cooking element.
When the outer layer cooks, it is sliced into thin shavings. It is similar to Mexican Al Pastor, Greek Gyros, Arab Shawarma.
Doner Kebab may be in pita, sandwich or it may be wrapped in a thin flatbread such as yufka and lavash. It is called "durum"
It is difficult to cook it at home, so it is better to have it outside.
Its sandwich generally contains vegetables or salad such as pickled cucumber, cabbage, lettuce, tomato.
I prefer to drink "ayran" (made of yoghurt) with it.
