As I promised last week, today I will announce the winner of the first edition of my poetry contest The writing feather.

A total of 13 people answered my call for poems and, to be honest, I was surprised to see that many. I'm really glad people took time to write these poems. All of them were really good and all of them would deserve a prize.

But, I'm a man with limited funds and this is why for now, only one poem will be rewarded.

The theme was about love. In my mind I was thinking that people will write about romantic love, but there were poems about motherly love for example. I realised that I will need to be more specific in the future when I set the ground rules for the contest. Of course, I still took into consideration those poems as well.

To be honest, it was hard to choose only one poem. They are all nice, in their own way. But being a contest, I had to make a decision about the winner. So without further ado ( drum rolls please)

I really enjoyed this poem and what really got me was the opening verse:

We had that kind of bond
like Velcro adhesive
the kind where fate tears us apart
then sticks us together

Congratulations to @torico for writing this amazing poem. I hope that you'll continue to write and maybe join the other editions of "The Writing Feather", as well for the other participants as well.
