Writing Prompt Contest #7 - The Great Cold

Ok, so this is another Writing Contest that I'm doing. I am going to try to pump 1 out every 1-3 days. I'm going to change the way these are done a bit more because I want all of the participants to earn from their own stories as well as this one and to not be put off by the size limits that I put in place. Prizes will be awarded after the Closing of this Post.

"It's so cold."

I couldn't breathe for the great cold that seeped into my bones. I could sense something, just beyond my vision and outside of my hearing. My chest constricted and I labored for breathing.

"It's so cold."

I was tied down and the only warmth was the red blood that leaked from my ribs. I screamed, but not sound came out. I could barely move my head, but what I could see in this position was frightening. The flickering of a light somewhere bounced off the blue-tinted walls. Muffled voices from the other room complained to each other.

"It's so cold."

Tears leaked from my eyes, but froze in small icy lines on my cheeks. The very vapor of my breath seemed almost crystalline in the air above me. I could feel my arms and the upper parts of my legs, but my extremities had long since gone numb. I could move them, I knew that much, but it was just a peripheral thing. I could tighten the muscles that would make them move. I couldn't feel them though.

Thanks!!!

Awww hell! I thought the picture was the "writing Prompt" but going back to your other posts I realize that your story was supposed to be the prompt.

I've gone awry. I'll do better next time!

No worries @mikepm74, if the picture entices you to write something, then that's perfectly alright with me. I'm pretty laid-back... I'll probably add that to the offering for future competitions.

The basic premise is just to get the creative juices flowing.

I will read it and see, I'm excited.

Thoroughly enjoyed the story. I loved the twist. Nicely done. I commented and left my full opinion in the comment to that story.

Thanks @dbzfan4awhile! I appreciate the feedback.

I knew the direction the story was going from the start, but the final twist was a struggle right up until I typed it. But then I knew that was the most impactful way to finish. Glad it turned out decently!

Have a great one!

You have a future in writing. That's my take.

DING DING DING!! You are the winner of .057 SBD.
