Well that kept my attention! Great job!!!

Thanks! Nothing wrong with a bit of scifi in the morning.

Caught in a loop for eternity... not the best way to go. :'(

Is it murder if you kill yourself, but you're still alive afterwards? THESE ARE THE HARD QUESTIONS.

Yes, it is still murder, just because the individual traveled through time or through a loop it is still murder.

It's not suicide?

I'm... not sure about that.

If they never existed in your timeline it's technically another person so not suicide. I think

What is death if you cannot find it?

If you're constantly reincarnated, it certainly takes away the sting of death.

And the joy of life, I think.

Very nice twist indeed, as @morodiene stated. It then begs the question of what happens now? does he hail himself? or shoot the other him? or is it another him? or perhaps he's come out into a different universe?

Lots of interesting questions come up from it.
Thanks for participating.

Easy answer: It is up to the reader.

In my mind, however, I feel the ship and its occupant, trapped in silence and madness as he is, will not be able to hail his other self, and will thus get destroyed. Another notch on the bedpost. 601 manned vessels shot down.

It makes you wonder, have all 600 shots been shots that hit his own ship? Has he just been shooting his own vessel over and over?

I went down that same path of thought, and I think that's exactly where I would have ended up if I continued writing this. :)

Brutal.
