The importance of wisdom: Your wrongdoings have kept these away; your sins have deprived you of good. Jeremiah 5:25

The Bible teaches that wisdom coexists with God from eternity and that through this wisdom God ordered all creation. The most important function of wisdom is to order, to make things have a harmonious development.
This is why when men despise the spiritual gift of fear of God (constancy, firmness, devotion, and equanimity) which is fundamentally the path to wisdom, what immediately happens is that things begin to get disordered. This is why in essence sin is a disorder, and not only a disorder against the will of God, but also a disorder against the harmony of the universe.
All the prophets from Abraham and Moses to Jesus warned about this problem in their teachings. And the prophet Nehemiah, who preached before the destruction of the Kingdom of Judah, about this issue was no exception. A nation without wisdom to live is a nation that has no future, the wisdom is the knowledge of the correct means to live. And this was what happened to the Kingdom of Judah due to its rebellion against the divine law, as prophesied by Nehemiah and the prophets contemporary to this time.
Jeremiah, following the prophetic teaching, explained how, prior to the total destruction by the Babylonian empire, the sins coming from a people who did not want to listen brought with them a gradual disorder of things in creation:
"But these people have stubborn and rebellious hearts;
they have turned aside and gone away.
They do not say to themselves,
´Let us fear the LORD our God,
who gives autumn and spring rains in season,
who assures us of the regular weeks of harvest.´
Your wrongdoings have kept these away;
your sins have deprived you of good" Jeremiah 5:23-25.
This is why prophets like Nehemiah are clear in their message about the importance of wisdom, the true goods of man, such as peace and prosperity, are the product of man's ordering to the divine; sin deceives man's reason and leads him down an uncertain path.
