Today I learned that in the Second World War the Japanese built bombs and mines from coconuts.

During the fighting in the Philippines, Japanese soldiers emptied coconuts, filled them with explosive acid, and put in a hand grenade. From here the coconut bomb could be placed as a mine, or thrown directly at the enemy.
