The X-Files is one of my top three favorite TV shows of all time and I would probably put it at number one on my list. As any X-Files fan knows, it was resurrected for a tenth season last year. However, there were only six episodes so it was more of a tease than anything. The tenth season received mixed reviews but I enjoyed it and thought they at least matched your average classic X-Files episodes. Fox, Chris Carter, David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson all seem to be willing to do another season but schedules and locations just haven't worked out to allow that to happen as yet. Hopefully, it will happen in the not too distant future.
Meanwhile, it appears that an audio series called "Cold Cases" is being released by audible that is going to cover the period between the last X-Files Movie, "I Want to Believe", and the beginning of Season 10. While this isn't as good as a new TV series, it does feature the original actors including David Duchovny (Mulder), Gillian Anderson (Scully), Mitch Pileggi (Walter Skinner), ‘The Cigarette Smoking Man’ (William B. Davis), and 'The Lone Gunmen' (Tom Braidwood, Dean Haglund, and Bruce Harwood).
Of particular interest to me is the the return of the Lone Gunmen. These were my favorite characters from the show and I remember getting my hopes up upon hearing that they would be returning in Season 10 (fans will of course recall that they supposedly died near the end of Season 9). I was disappointed when their return consisted of vague shots in a drug-induced dream/hallucination so I won't get my hopes up too much for this one. Nevertheless, it sounds like it could be interesting.
