The Japanese exchange, Coincheck, has reported the largest hack in history of 500 million NEM tokens being stolen(Approx. 553 m usd). The exchange temporarily suspended all activity.
NEM has come out and stated that all their technology is fine and the hack was a exclusive error on Coincheck. This has not stopped panic selling over the last 24 hours or so and has dropped the price to 84 cents at the time of this writing.

So is this the beginning of the end for NEM or just a great buying opportunity?
I find it interesting that even though this is a much larger amount taken than the Mt. Gox hack, so much more money has poured into crypto that this will not have as large an impact.
