Marriage Covenant.
In the ancient custom, a man who desired a wife would make a covenant with her, there was agreed upon terms, and when both agreed, they would roll the covenant up, and seal it. Then the Bridegroom would leave her for a year, trusting in the vows that were agreed upon. He would go to His Father's house, and prepare a place for her, and the children they would have. He would get HIs finances in order in order to support the wife, and coming children.
Then, after a year, He would return to the Bride, and take her with Him, and have a feast, and consummate the marriage.
Yahuah made a covenant with Abraham, and then He took his offspring out of egypt. At Mt. Sinai, He made the covenant of marriage with Israel, and all the people said "We will do whatever He says" They however broke the covenant, and lusted after others, and committed adultery/fornication. Their bones were left in the wilderness. Their children however were not kicked out of the covenant, and when they entered into the land, the covenant was fulfilled, and they became the Bride. However, later, they committed adultery, and Yahuah divorced His bride. He did however reveal to the prophets that someday, He would retake His Bride, which was a real head scratcher, because Torah prohibits a husband from divorcing a wife for fornication, and then remarrying her after she has gone after other husbands.
Yahuah came in the flesh, and died to make void the Torah of the husband. He then rose the firstfruits of a new creation, and enacted a new marriage covenant with His Bride. Any who believe Him, may enter into covenant with Him. He went to His Father's house to prepare a place for the Bride. We who believe are awaiting His return, to take us to the marriage feast, and consummate the marriage. When He comes, if we have fornicated, and broken the covenant, then He will deny us, and leave us where we are. He desires a chaste virgin as His Bride, and unless we wash our garments, and remain faithful to Him, and do not chase after other gods, and their ways, We will not be brought into the Marriage Feast, and become the Bride.
The Torah is His Ketubah, or marriage covenant. If we break it, we are no longer in covenant with Him. He is merciful, and will forgive transgression if we ask, but if we continue willfully in sin(transgression of the Torah), He will no longer forgive.
When He starts breaking the seals on our marriage covenant, we will enter into the period of testing to see if we are worthy to be His Bride. Those who endure/overcome will He bring into His house.
Shalom.
