Normally I don't read tips or reviews much about the place I'm going to because I want to taste it, feel it by myself without any judgement. I'd like to keep my perspective pure and fresh.
I went to Burma two weeks ago and it seems like a Time-travel for me.
A little bit modern life beats the old culture in Yangon, life and Burmese tradition still remain for the rest of this country (or at least places where I visited)/
Also temples are everywhere, every famous city that are mentioned in any tourist books or reviews have temples temples and temples, 1001 kinds of temples, different, unique, historic and brilliant. Yes, brilliant as some of them were made by gem and gold.
As Burma was colonized by British before, people here like drinking tea and cakes. It's milky tea, not fresh, not boba pop, and pretty sweet obviously - I mean it's just not my gout. :p . They have good cakes - thanks god, selling in any shops on the streets or market.
IN YANGON
Old structures that seems being built couple decades ago remains same, standing next to new modern hotels and shopping mall.
Pari something bakery is a fancy trendy style here.
People tend to read newspaper, not facebook or stick with smart phone. :p
Street food is variety and served all day.
Fun and a pitty experience was that I got food poisoning, almost to vomit and diarrhea for couple days - cannot enjoy the trip much. :(
All temples here are full of people (excluding foreign tourist). They prefer go to pray than cinema as I didn't see any one there. :p
People also love gold and would like to show off, they wear lots of that stuff and gold jewelry shop are common.
Men there are so cute wearing sarong ( a long skirt) and chew traditional herb (only my grandmother chews it in Vietnam :)) ). Moreover they are quite clumsy to talk to me - a foreign girl (they didn't know that I'm ...clumsier and also shy).
