Hand Made - recycled wooden lamp (Base preparation)

in ydesign •  7 years ago

In this post, I have asked what can be done with only two pieces of wood... There were some suggestions...

@Heroldius said to start a BBQ with... Ok, only if you bring something to grill on the BBQ ;)

@Promize123 - Great idea to use it for holding kitchen utensils... not this time.

@yoedie - Could be nice to make it... Can you make a photo frame?

So I have imagined a lamp using these two pieces of wood :

And I went to my treasuries box and found some led light strips... So I have led light (Remembering how I got these strips... a crazy story that happened in Paris, will tell it to you later).

Next task? Find how to marry light and wood. Here is the process I decided to follow.

Router Bosch - using it for the first time since I have it, i.e 7 months. Got this tool for 50€ instead of 400€... Bought it on a "marché aux puces" in Paris.

Nice tool but missing some bits. Need to order new ones.

And I need to reorganize my space to install the work set... Maybe something like THIS?

So after I used the router, I finished lines with a cutter. Not very straight but won't be visible after the painting step. Already decided on the color. Will let you discover it in the next post.

Prepared the wood - assembling two pieces using special super strong glue instead of using screws.

I don't want to screw it :D

The next step is coming after the glue will be dry. More or less 24 hours.

Thank you! The glue is almost dry. Finishing some polish and then painting. Beton structure paint. Will be cool.
