Gaza - The US Embassy for Israel officially moved from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem on Monday, May 14, 2018. The controversial action comes after Donald Trump's Government unilaterally recognizes Al-Quds as the capital of the Zionist state.

The ceremony was marked by bloodshed in Gaza. At least 52 Palestinians were killed in clashes with Israeli troops. That means Monday was the deadliest day since the war in Gaza ended 2014.

Less than 50 miles away where Ivanka Trump and a number of US officials celebrated the inauguration of the embassy on a sunny afternoon, the border in Gaza was transformed into a red zone, with flames and chaotic situations, as tens of thousands of protesters confronted Israeli snipers.

The Tel Aviv side argued that they opened fire to banish Hamas, which they said used the demonstrators as a diversion, so they could break through the border fence and carry out attacks on Israeli territory.

As quoted from the Telegraph on Tuesday (5/15/2018), Palestinian Health Ministry officials said 52 people were killed along the Gaza and Israeli border, including six children under the age of 18.

The youngest death toll was reportedly named Ezzaldeen al-sammak, a 14-year-old boy. Meanwhile, more than 1,200 others became victims of gunfire or wounded.

In total, about 100 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza since the protests began six weeks ago. The majority of the dead were unarmed demonstrators.

The Palestinian Authority accused Israel of committing a "horrific massacre" and called on the international community to stop it.

Despite the bloodshed, Donald Trump praised the momentum as "a great day for Israel". The eccentric billionaire is convinced that his decision to move the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem will ultimately help bring peace between Israel and the Palestinians.

"For years, we have failed to acknowledge the obvious: the irrefutable fact that the capital city of Israel is Jerusalem," Trump said in a video played at the event.

He added that the US would be fully committed to facilitate a lasting peace agreement between Israel and Jerusalem.

Not only criticized the Arab countries and the Islamic World, Donald Trump's decision was also crowded criticized a number of Western countries, including those close US allies.

The Office of the British Prime Minister or Downing Street revealed that the inauguration of the US embassy in Jerusalem did nothing to support the Palestinian-Israeli peace effort.

Even with Turkey. "The United States has chosen to be part of the problem, rather than being part of the solution," Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said in a speech in London.

The United States, he added, has lost the role of mediator in the Palestinian-Israeli peace process

Demonstration Continues Tuesday

On Monday, some 40,000 demonstrators gathered at 13 points along the wire fence separating Israel from Gaza, according to the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF).

The military of the Zionist state argued that they opened fire to prevent the crowd, so they would not break through the fence.

Some parts of the fence do look damaged in some places, however, no Palestinian people break into Israel.

"We are not targeting anyone who poses no threat, either by trying to tear down the fence or run into Israeli territory," IDF spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Jonathan Conricus said.

Human Rights Watch has criticized Israel for using live ammunition to disperse protesters. In fact, there is no direct threat directed against Israeli troops or civilians there. It was reported that only one Israeli soldier was wounded, by stones or by fractions.

"The IDF's decision resulted in a bloodbath that is virtually predictable by anyone from the start," Human Rights Watch said.

Khalil al-Hayya, a senior Hamas official, said the protests would continue on Tuesday. "We show clearly, today, to the whole world that the peaceful action of citizens actually makes the enemy spill more blood," he said.

Through his Twitter account, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu defended himself. "Every country must protect its borders, and Hamas terrorist organizations say it intends to destroy Israel and send thousands of people to penetrate the frontier to achieve this goal and we will continue to act decisively to protect our sovereignty and citizens," he said.

The inauguration of the embassy in Jerusalem was led by White House senior adviser Ivanka Trump, who represented his father.

Also present in the inauguration
h White House senior adviser Jared Kushner (who is Ivanka's husband), US Deputy Secretary of State John Sullivan, and US Ambassador to Israel David Friedman.

Paraguay President Horacio Cartes and Guatemalan President Jimmy Morales were also present at the inauguration ceremony of the US Embassy in Jerusalem.
