Once again a translation botch up of the KJV and other translations where the word for Greek is translated as gentile! The Greek language just as is the Hebrew is very specific and descriptive, it does not have room for assumption! Nor does God's Word, what it says it says because God has said it. He does not make mistakes ever! Every word in His Word has a point and a specific reason for being there! Here Greeks are mentioned because in referring to the dispersed the Jews were speaking of converts to Judaism. He was not speaking of the ten other tribes in the diaspora as they are always named as the φυλης(pronounced Foolays), meaning the tribes! So with that you will know that it is why Yeshua said to the Jew first and then the gentile, the gentile being the ten tribes!
Textus Receptus Greek:
John 7:35 ειπον ουν οι ιουδαιοι προς εαυτους που ουτος μελλει πορευεσθαι οτι ημεις ουχ ευρησομεν αυτον μη εις την διασποραν των ελληνων μελλει πορευεσθαι και διδασκειν τους ελληνας
KJV version:
John 7:35 Then said the Jews among themselves, Whither will he go, that we shall not find him? will he go unto the dispersed among the Gentiles, and teach the Gentiles?
Literal translation of the Greek:
John 7
35 The Jews said among themselves, where is He intending to go that we cannot find Him? Not to the dispersed Greek people (the Greek converts to Judaism)? Is He intending to travel and teach the Greeks?
