MANTRAS, What are and What are they for?

The word mantra comes from the Sanskrit MAN, meaning mind, and TRA, which has the sense of protection, vibration and also an instrument.
Mantras are resources to protect our mind against unproductive cycles of thoughts and actions. They have beneficial vibrational aspects and serve to focus and calm the mind.
When we concentrate on the repetition of sound, all other thoughts fade away little by little until the mind is clear, calm, at peace.

Types of mantras

The mantra is usually a word or group of words, which cause the mind to start working at a certain frequency.
Although there are some that have been used for centuries to achieve certain effects, nobody prevents us from creating our own mantras, as in the case of affirmations or decrees

The physical sound patterns produced by the mantras are able to vibrate in tune with sound patterns which constitute physical phenomena.

I want to share with you the mantra OM link from youtube.

I really like to chant mantras. In ashtanga vinyasa yoga we chant one mantra in the beginning and one in the end of our pracitce.
My favourite mantra besides that at the moment is one dedicated to ganesha:

here you can hear how it sounds (or should sound) like when you sing it:

(there are a few mantras after that in this track - but the first one is the ganesha mantra) :-) have a lovely day.

I know Ganesha mantra, I use it in my classes, thanks to share! it is really deep if I think about the feeling that causes
that is why I believe faithfully in what the vibration of the mantras causes us.
Thank you for sharing your experiences in this yoga path. Nice day for you, too.
