Entering One of My Favorite Yoga Photos for @dobartim's Best Yoga Move Competition

in yoga •  7 years ago  (edited)

Thank you for your input and votes for which photo to enter in @dobartim's competition for the best yoga move!

I chose to enter one of my favorite photos with personal sentimental value:

My friend Mal snapped this shot of me in the mosque that faces the Taj Mahal during my days in India.

I went to India to lead yoga and ayurveda adventures for a tour company, and I had the primo opportunity to study with some of the world's greatest yogis while I was there.

Our journey took us across the country, culminating in a trip to this wonder of the world in Agra.

According to the poet Tagore, the Taj is the "the tear-drop on the cheek of time." It is said to be a masoleum commissioned by Shah Jahan in 1631 for his late wife Mumtaz Mahal - it was definitely an epic monument to power up the heart!

India is an amazing country where every day felt like a lifetime. I'm glad to have made the pilgrimage to the motherland of yoga and will undoubtedly share more stories of my experience there as time goes on.

Thank you everyone for your votes - VICTORY TO ALL!

Mmmmmm that looks like a yummy stretch!! I think I'll go play in the yoga swing for a bit, thanks for the inspiration!

The things that are possible from a simple swing... it just goes to show that simplicity offers just as much as the consoles does at times.

That is very impressive ! @saramiller and 100% agree with you about India, I felt it too when I was there!

India is an intense and amazing country with great diversity. I feel I only got a glimpse of it in all my time there, but WOW!

Thanks for the glowing comment @muhammadaamir!

For me this pose is as difficult as buying the Taj Mahal. Anyways great pose and being an Indian myself I recommend you to visit Kashmir in India. It is known as the paradise of the earth. This place is where beauty opens its arms to make you visit again and again.

Hahaha
I spent a lot of time in Himachal Pradesh, but have not yet had the chance to go as far north as Kashmir. I hope to see it the next time I am in India!

Wooww cuanta flexibilidad

:)

Good to hear that you are professional in yoga. Taj Mahaj is one the beautiful fort all over the world. I am from India but i never get a change to visit there.

I wish you like India and Indian people.

Thank you @kamesh! I recommend you see it at least once if you can. The architecture and tile work is stunning! It is much cheaper for Indians to visit than it is for foreigners.
I did enjoy India and the people were amazing! I made many great friends who were kind and generous to me and of course many great cooks! :)
