Three main elements determine the possibility of connecting a frequency converter. The power supply must be known, 230 V single-phase or 400 V three-phase and ensure that the combination is mounted with three-phase motors and then extract the voltage of the motors from the nameplate.
230 V single-phase power supply => Three-phase 230 V output A 230 V single-phase power supply connected to the input of the 230 V frequency inverter requires a 230 V three-phase output, which means a 230V motor voltage. This device is also called frequency converter and provides only 230 V tri output.
Power supply 400 V three-phase => three-phase 400 V output A three-phase 400 V power supply connected to the input of the frequency converter provides a 400 V three-phase output current and therefore supplies a 400 V three-phase motor.
A frequency converter can not power a single-phase motor and double-coil motors as well as some other specific motors are not designed to operate in conjunction with such a device. On the other hand motors of the same power facilitate installation. Fortunately most wood combinations receive several motors of identical power.
Nameplate
There are two principle diagrams which show single-phase and three-phase power supplies connected to a corresponding frequency converter as well as the output voltages in relation to their power supply. The motor housing shows star or delta connections depending on the output voltage of the frequency converter.

So many solutions exist with regard to the brakes of electric motors that it is virtually impossible to provide a response on compatibility. This being said, most electromagnetic brakes can operate with a frequency converter.
