In New Jersey in my youth, a ski resort (“Action Park”??) in the summer has concrete half pipes and these toboggan type low carts that had no control but a friction brake stick. The thing was a death trap. It was the most awesome thing ever. I’m pretty sure they got sued out of existence. A water slide would be a decent substitute. I do miss that concrete luge though.
I’ve come to realize that Gen Z thinks us Gen X folks are tough, hard, and somewhat caustic about their sensitivities, whereas they are better with their more emotionally developed outlook. Well, suck it! We snuck away to “go play” and hitched a ride with kids six years older than us and risked our lives on the alpine slide, and it was awesome!
