Good news for iOS 14 users and often enjoy entertainment and YouTube shows . The reason is, now you can use the picture-in-picture (PiP) feature to play videos on the platform for free.
The YouTube website currently supports PiP mode on iOS 14, after the function mysteriously disappeared last month.
Launching from The Verge, Friday (2/10/2020), this PiP feature can be activated in Safari as well as third-party browsers such as Chrome or Firefox by expanding the video to play full screen, then tapping the PiP icon at the top left of the interface.
Then, users are also free to minimize the browser and use other applications while continuing to watch the video.
Not only that, users can also slide the PiP window to the side if you only want to listen to music without video because it blocks the view.
As is known, PiP is Apple's newest feature on iOS 14. When first released, this feature can play YouTube videos in the background, so users can open other applications while watching videos or listening to music on the platform for free.
But before long, this feature didn't work for iPhone users. However, this feature can work for users who subscribe to YouTube Premium and iPad.
Meanwhile, the PiP feature now only works in the browser, and is not available in the YouTube app itself, with MacRumors noting that the feature was never supported.
Playing videos in the background is possible via the YouTube app, but only if you have a YouTube Premium subscription.
