From reverse-engineering Youtube's algorithms, evidence is emerging that it may be demonetising content based on simple keywords. Anything with a title or description featuring words as innocuous as 'Gay/Lesbian' to 'North Carolina', or even 'Asian' is liable to be blocked from advertising revenue.
This may be a massive hidden violation of Statutory, Constitutional, and Human Rights, as it would deny economic access for people of various demographics for absolutely arbitrary reasons.
This is an unprecedentedly huge allegation of systemic prejudice, and is likely to create a flurry of lawsuits in jurisdictions all over the world. It demonstrates how utterly crucial the transparency of algorithmic systems is for ensuring peace, prosperity, and justice in our global society.
