It is getting harder to make money on YouTube!
In January 2018 YouTube has the rules for generating advertising revenue.
In 2017 made YouTube and rule that you must have at least 10.000 views in total.
Now the rule is that you have to have 1000 subscribers and 4000 hours watch time in the past year
in minutes that is 240.000.

Is YouTube trying to stop the small channels?
Are they done with the small money amounts?

It is not entirely clear yet.

What effect does this have for the people who are below the values of the new rule?

They will no longer be able to put ads on their videos from 20 February 2018 .
They are also disconnected from their partner network.
The average YouTuber that does not meet the new rule will miss $5 per month.

It seems that a lot of small YouTubers are going to stop and the real go-getters will stay.
